Closing Day for Session #1 was a bittersweet day for both campers and counselors as they had to say good-bye until next summer. The morning began with a little sleeping in before getting ready for parents. Campers helped counselors clean for the last time so that they could show parents how responsible and neat they were throughout the past week. Everyone headed to the Wilderness Lodge to eat together for the last time before parents began arriving. The Kitchimockas served fresh baked cinnamon rolls with fresh fruit and cereal for the last breakfast. As parents arrived at 10:00, the kiddos were so excited to not only see their parents, but to also give first hand accounts of the past few days. The gentlemen of Maryland were more than excited to share their news about being the Ultimate Survivors. Not only did they have tremendous spirit for the week, but they also won many Survivor Challenges and kept their bunks clean. Kiddos said their final goodbyes and gave parents the grand tour, watched the slide show and had brunch with their families in the Wilderness Lodge. Camp closed down for everyone else so that counselors could refresh for Session #2. Akcomanniway Session #1!
